In a much-anticipated move, Disney Vacation Club (DVC) and Disney World enthusiasts are in for a treat as the iconic Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort undergoes a major transformation. The resort, known for its charming cabins and picturesque setting, is set to welcome a refreshing addition with the introduction of brand new Disney Vacation Club Cabins.
Disney recently announced that The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, the latest addition to the Disney Vacation Club portfolio, is slated to open its doors in the summer of 2024. This development marks a significant enhancement to the existing cabins, promising a revitalized and relaxing atmosphere for visitors. The concept art shared by Disney showcases a harmonious blend of rustic charm and contemporary comfort, offering guests an immersive experience inspired by the resort's idyllic setting.
Building upon the commitment to environmental sustainability, Disney's plans for the new cabins include the incorporation of energy-efficient features. Additionally, the project aims to make use of the existing cabin footprint, ensuring a thoughtful and eco-friendly approach to the resort's expansion.
Bill Diercksen, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Disney Vacation Club, expressed enthusiasm about the project, stating, “For more than 50 years, Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground has offered guests the opportunity to explore nature with their loved ones while staying in the heart of Walt Disney World Resort. We’re excited to continue to build upon the resort’s rich legacy and elevate the cabin experience for our Members and all guests to enjoy for years to come.”
The design concept for the new cabins draws inspiration from the resort's unique culture and heritage, seamlessly blending it with the magic of Disney storytelling. Each cabin is envisioned to feature a bedroom, bathroom, living room, full kitchen, and a private patio. With the capacity to accommodate up to six adults, the cabins also offer a select number of dog-friendly options, ensuring that furry family members can join in on the Disney magic.
As with all Disney Vacation Club resorts, The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort will be open for reservations to all guests, not exclusive to DVC members. This inclusive approach reflects Disney's commitment to providing a magical experience for everyone visiting this beloved corner of the Walt Disney World Resort. With the promise of a rejuvenated and enchanting retreat, the introduction of these new cabins adds another layer of excitement to the allure of Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort in the coming year.
